I hope you had a wonderful Holiday, but if you didn't... don't worry, you're not alone! The Holidays bring an immense amount of pressure. Various levels of pressure, from planning dinners, to buying gifts, and having to engage in a plethora of small talk. I have never really been one to enjoy small talk, and family gatherings would probably give me hives... if I got hives. It's all just way too much in my opinion, but yet we do this to ourselves anyway, year after year.
The reason I bring this up is, perhaps there is another way. A way to celebrate and come together without all of the pressure. I'm not really sure what that looks like, because I've never actually seen it before. I want to believe it is possible, so that it can manifest... and just maybe you feel the same?
I'm not saying Holidays are "bad"... I'm just saying that the burden of expectations and disappointments are a bit much to carry around, especially during a time that you are supposed to be filled with Joy + Cheer! The focus needs to shift from outdoing one another on gift giving, to conscious communions of friends and family, all sharing in love, laughs and good times!
Perhaps you have a fun family, and your Holidays may tend to go off without a hitch... if this be the case, then Cheers! However, if you can relate to those who have a bit of a different spin on the Holiday Season, then this one's for you, Baby! MUAH!!!! MERRY EVERYTHING! Let's focus on what matters most, and dive into more self care in the upcoming new year!
It's all about Inspired Living!
